ATTENDANCE & RECEPTION COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Attendance & Reception Committee is to promote attendance at membership meetings and act as reception committee at monthly meetings.
AWARDS
The purpose of the Awards Committee is to evaluate and select from committee’s input or nominations submitted, the recipients of awards.
BYLAWS
The purpose of this committee is to periodically review and prepare proposed amendments to the Board Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation.
COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY
The purpose of the Computer Technology Committee is to promote the use and benefits of Industry Technological tools to the Membership. Their responsibilities include keeping current with industry technology, to review Member needs regarding technological information and training, to make recommendations to the MLS and YAR Boards of Directors for improvements to current systems and/or adoption of technological advancements.
EDUCATION
The purpose of the Education Committee is to develop and administer a well balanced program of education that services the educational needs of the membership through various programs and recommendations.
FAIR HOUSING/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
The Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity Committee conducts fair housing training and makes recommendations to the Directors on matters that affect REALTORS® and the federal and state fair housing laws.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
The purpose of the Gov’t Affairs Committee is to coordinate and promote legislation which recognizes private property rights and the interest of the real estate industry, and to defend against legislation which is detrimental to industry rights and interests; to promote and strive for the improvement of government by encouraging and stimulating REALTORS® to take a more active and effective part in governmental affairs; encourage the understanding of the nature and actions of gov’t as to important political issues, candidates and office holders; develop sources of financial support.
GRIEVANCE/PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
The purpose of the Grievance Committee is to receive ethics complaints and arbitration requests, and to determine if the complaint has sufficient substance and merit to warrant an ethics or arbitration hearing.
The purpose of the Professional Standards Committee is to be responsible for enforcement of the Code of Ethics through the conduct of ethics and arbitration hearings. Members of the Professional Standards committee are subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors, and shall serve terms of three years. Consideration will be given to an appropriate mix of male and female, ethnic or racial representation as may be applicable.
MEMBERSHIP
The purpose of the Membership Committee is to expand the membership so as to represent the largest number of individuals and firms involved in all facets of the real estate industry, and to conduct an orientation program for new members.
NOMINATIONS
The purpose of the Nominations Committee is to review and recommend individuals to serve the Yakima Board of REALTORS® in the capacity of president, president-elect,
secretary/treasurer and directors.
PROGRAM
The purpose of the Program Committee is to provide a stimulating, educational program for the monthly membership meetings.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/COMMUNICATIONS
The purpose of the PR/Communications Committee is to promote and communicate the goals and policies of the REALTOR® movement through appropriate programs and methods to the public and to the real estate industry.
RPAC
The RPAC Committee shall conduct an annual campaign to solicit contributions from the membership of the Association, and conduct any annual RPAC events in support of local, regional and national candidates who support REALTOR® issues and Quality of Life principles.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES The Special Activities Committee organizes and manages varied functions throughout the year in support of the Board’s social, honorary and protocol responsibilities.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
The Strategic Planning Committee shall develop, review and recommend long-range plans as a guide to Y.A.R.’s future.
